Mindset by DRU

When you are first learning about this entire “process”, you get a lot of information in a short amount of time, much without any context for you to even relate it to. It can be a bit overwhelming but then you feel that fire inside start to ignite because, almost as if something has been awakened, you believe this is like nothing else you’ve ever had the opportunity to experience; and that’s exciting! You’re listening to couples who have one of them free from their job and others who are just getting back from traveling abroad, just because, and their message is one you can believe in. The message is one of simplicity. Let us mentor you to freedom. Not, give me all your money and do x-y and z, but, let me show you what you need to do, and I will help you every step of the way. Then the mindset discussion happens and you, maybe for the first time in your entire life, begin to learn that you know absolutely nothing about how money works and by just changing the mindset you currently have, you can turn your entire life around and go from survive to thrive. Nothing happens quickly when changing a mindset, nor should it because then its just a fad and fads won’t take you from where you are now to ensuring your children’s children have a name on the back of their jersey that they are proud of. The change is gradual and requires belief and attention. The lessons are given as you are able to receive them but it’s on you to absorb, reflect and then act upon. Over time and with the will and hunger to do what it takes to get into the right mental state for success, you will do just that, succeed. The realization that your mindset has shifted and is now becoming more habitual and natural doesn’t happen in some magical explosion of fireworks or a certificate being presented, it happens in a moment of clarity when you just happen to realize that your reaction to a situation that you’ve been in 100 times previous is now different. Not only different, but positive!

This moment happened to me in 2022 as I was preparing to visit my youngest daughter Audrey for her spring break. The thought process previously would have just been to fly to DC, book a hotel, and spend the time with my daughter in the local area. Nothing wrong with any of that either but my new thinking had me knowing I could do better and seeking ways I could use this time to add value to this new life I was pursuing. The answer was to contact my mentors and request some of their time. The mentality of my thinking went from; just doing what I wanted to, to how can I do what I want AND add value. What more can I be doing with this time? There was no hesitation from my mentors to bring me into their lives and share anything and everything with me that I could possibly seek from them. I made it a point to not waste this time either as I had just traveled halfway across the country to be with my daughter and then a few more hours south to visit with them. The unexpected and unplanned additional outcome of this new mindset was how much value it brought to Audrey. She got to connect with my mentor’s and their children and friendship’s that will hopefully last a lifetime were made. There’s not a store in the world that sells that. Just this simple adjustment of the way I was thinking, by taking the lesson’s I was being given and absorbing them, resulted in one of the best trips I have taken to visit my daughter and created memories that we will cherish forever.

If you take nothing else away from the story, I just shared with you I hope you understand that just because you don’t see, feel, hear, smell, taste, (or any other sense you may have) the change in your mind set. Believe!Keep asking your mentor’s those hard questions to make sure you’re picking up what they’re laying down, keep doing your daily habits and making the connection’s. The change is happening. I promise you. If you’re truly committed, then the only possible end result is success.
